About Jenna

I've been an engineer, a mathematician and a trainee actuary. Now I'm a studio jeweller and a mother but my brain still works the same way it always did!

About Jenna

Jewellery satisfies both my need to learn and my need to create objects with my hands. I love mastering new styles and techniques, along with mixing colour and texture. I try to bring an ‘engineered’ perspective to much of what I do, because that’s how my head works… I’m a problem solver first and an artist second

I was born and raised in Queensland, Australia and currently live in Sydney with my husband and young son (and one devoted cat).

I’ve had formal training in disparate fields, most (virtually all?) of them highly focused on science and mathematics rather than the arts. I’ve been making jewellery as a serious sideline since 2000 and fashioning items for sale (online and other venues) since 2004. My son was born in late 2008 and I’ve since been taking a hiatus from actuarial exams and corporate desk work to be with my family more, and create the opportunity to take my jewellery further.

I stepped up the jewellery in 2010, participating in many local market events and entering two categories at the Sydney Royal Easter show for the first time. My work was awarded first place and a Standard of Excellence in the Silver Jewellery with Settings and/or Gemstones category last year, something that was completely unexpected but very welcome!

2011 promises to be eventful, with the expectation of my second son in early May and the possibilities of the year opening in front of me.
